Love and Thunder – How the spoiler can best return

Thor: Love and Thunder It’s now been in theaters long enough for us to be able to analyze everything that happens by the end – and what that might mean for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While there was a lot of hilarious comedy and a lack of respect bull 4There has also been some crucial development as to who holds the mantle of Thor’s resounding powers. At the end of the Thor: Love and ThunderMarvel Studios left the door open for a character whose story seemed over for a future comeback.

(Warning: main spoiler dependent!)

This is how Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster/Mighty Thor can return in future MCU stories – and do it in the best way possible!

In the last chapter of Thor: Love and Thunder Jane has to make an important decision: sit in the final battle with Gore (Christian Bale) at the gate of eternity and recover from cancer; Or, take Mjolnir to fight Gorr, while weakening her mortal human form. Jane chooses to fight and ends up dying in Thor Odinson’s arms, within the Eternal Realm. However, like Thor: Love and Thunder The post-credits scene reveals that because Jane died in battle as Mighty Thor, only Heimdall (Idris Elba) welcomed her into the halls of Valhalla.

How Jane Foster Can Return After Thor: Love and Thunder

In Marvel Comics, the Norse myth of Valhalla was used as a celestial afterlife for Asgards, with the usual comic book twists – first of all, people don’t stay permanently dead there.

If you know your Norse mythology, you know that Odin sent the Valkyats to collect the souls of those warriors who are welcomed into the halls of Valhalla. If you know your own Marvel legends, you know that in the comics Jane Foster followed her time as The Mighty Thor by taking on the mantle of the Valkyries, after they had fallen. With fans loving the era of comics that inspired Jen’s transformation into Valkyrie, why not the MCU following the source material?

Avengers: Endgame set a precedent in the MCU to save the skull in epic battles – and the perils of the current Phase 4 multiverse arc could certainly summon the Cosmic Skull to some point. The same is true for the next Thor movie: Zeus (Russell Crowe) and his son Hercules (Brett Goldstein) want the ancient gods to restore respect to Asgardians and/or superheroes, so Thor may need all the backups Asgard can muster if a “War of the Gods” event begins. “. Whatever the context, seeing Jane Foster lead a cosmic jingle as Valkyrie would be a huge rallying moment. It will also be the ultimate incarnation of the powerful heroine that Portman has indicated she would like to play.

For a deeper cut: Jane Foster’s mighty Thor can easily be brought back as one of (if not captain) of the Thor Legion, in the inevitable MCU adaptation of Secret Wars as the culmination of this multiverse.

Thor: Love and Thunder Now in theaters.
